I haven't written anything for a while, but this is too good. HBO has acquired the rights to turn George R.R. Martin's bestselling fantasy series "A Song of Fire & Ice" into a dramatic series to be written and exec produced by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.

Luke O'Brien makes a very good point in this article: in the "heyday" of video gaming, it was the independent developers that pushed the industry forward. Now, we have approximately two mainstream indie games a year.
